Towards the end of July, protests were held in front of the Pakistan High Commission in London by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Zone. The reason for the protests was reported to be against the elections conducted in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the protestors demanded independence for the Kashmiri people. News agencies reported that there were about 100 to 150 people who called for the boycott of the elections in PoK to resent the “undemocratic and inhumane selection and the interference of Pakistani political parties under Act 74 and the Karachi Agreement.”
