Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita M Ambani received the AAPI Humanitarian Award at a ceremony in Tampa, Florida, in recognition of her contributions to healthcare, education, sports, culture and community development.
She was also presented the Key to the City of Tampa by Mayor Jane Castor, one of the city's highest civic honours, for her humanitarian and social contributions.
Nita Ambani was honoured for her philanthropic leadership through the Reliance Foundation, whose initiatives span healthcare, education, rural development, women's empowerment, disaster relief, sports and cultural preservation.
The recognition reflects growing global appreciation of her contributions to social development. The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) is one of the largest organisations representing Indian-origin physicians in the US.
