49% of the voters disapproved of the job Boris Johnson is doing as a prime minister in an opinion poll, the lowest in the 53 times the pollster has asked the question.
While 34% of those surveyed approved of the job the PM is doing, his net approval rating was down to -16% from -13% before a fortnight, despite an increase in support for the government’s handling of the pandemic from -16% to -9% before a fortnight, in the survey of 2000 UK adults on 5-6 August.
Opinium’s head of political polling Adam Drummond has said that PM Johnson should be never written off as he has bounced back from poor polling numbers before, and he may be able to do so again.
