India-The Guarantor of Peace?

The war in Ukraine has divided the world like never before. Western duplicity and hypocrisy have been exposed for all to see. On one hand they championed sanctions, yet it turns out they are the biggest buyers of Russian fuel. They also trumpeted their support to Ukraine that whilst NATO was alive, no harm would come to Ukraine. Today’s history shows us the true value of these cheap promises made by the west. As I have stated before, be careful not to trust the west to such a degree that in that moment of your extreme need, that they don’t stab you in the back.

This is why India’s position on Ukraine and Russia has been proven correct. The mess that the west has made must be firmly laid at their collective door. They abdicated their responsibility and have continued to breach their own sanctions whilst preaching and threatening to the world.

Each day hundreds are dying in Ukraine, thousands injured and millions left homeless. The President of Ukraine now understands his options to save his nation are limited. His first fatal mistake was to depend on NATO and the west, and his second fatal mistake, to continue to believe that somehow the west will save the day.  No number of sanctions can undermine Russia to the extent that it will just voluntarily backdown, retreat and accept defeat. And there is no scope of any western nation entering the arena with their weapons and foot soldiers to counter the Russian armed forces.

At the same time the United Nations has bowed to the American pressure and last week they agreed to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council.

This now leaves both Russia and Ukraine in a difficult position. Who can they trust?  The UN is tainted by its corrupt policies and practice. There is no major western nation that Russia can trust.  Likewise, there is no major eastern nation that the west can trust. Except for India. India has always maintained a difficult position of working with partners in the east, the west, Africa and the Middle East. It is the only nation that is powerful enough to stand up to all the major powers.

In my view, a view that I have shared privately with certain key people already, the only solution is to ask India to act as the guarantor of peace.  There is scope that the President of Ukraine would accept India in such a position, and we know that Russia will listen to only one nation – India.

The biggest issue being whether they can agree on the new Line of Control (LoC). To bring Russia on board the LoC will have to be to the west of the Donbass region, which includes the two breakaway states of Luhansk and Donetsk. This I believe would have to be extended all the way to Crimea which means the control of Mariupol.  Will the west allow Ukraine to give this up is the big issue?

If Ukraine wants peace, it has no option but to seek out an acceptable LoC and to have it monitored by a nation like India that both sides can trust with confidence. This undermines the west and the UN. And therein we have the real problem.

It’s now for Ukraine to take the matter in its own hands. It’s time for Russia to seek a solution and stop this madness. And maybe India’s destiny for the 21st C has finally arrived, it’s time to rise up to the challenge and bring about peace. The global reset has started.
