Police hunting a convicted rapist who fled the country during his trial believe he may now be in Pakistan.

Choudhry Ikhalaq Hussain, 38, was convicted of rape, sexual activity with a child and conspiracy to rape in November. He was convicted in his absence and police believe that he fled the country during his trial.

Hussain had claimed that a family member had died and was given permission by the trial judge to attend the funeral, which was due to be held somewhere in the UK.

Police say he may now be in Pakistan.
