The owner of Leicester's first balti house has closed his restaurant's doors for the last time.
Abu Taher shut up shop for good on Sunday after running T&K Balti, in Green Lane Road, Evington, for 25 years.
Mr Taher, 52, has blamed tough immigration rules for forcing him to close down the business because he cannot find skilled chefs. He said he had been overwhelmed by the number of customers wishing him well for the future.
Mr Taher, who was given an MBE for services to the Bangladeshi community in the UK and hosts an event at his restaurant for the lord mayor's charity every year, said it had been a very emotional day for him.
