A schoolboy has received a reply from the Queen after he invited her to his fifth birthday party. Shaan Dulay, four, was so impressed after learning about Elizabeth II at school that he asked mum Baljinder, 39, to arrange for them to meet.
When she told him Her Majesty might be a bit too busy at Buckingham Palace, Shaan suggested: ‘Maybe she can come here instead.’ He was planning a party for his big day on June 25 and thought that would give the Queen time to arrange a trip to his home in Sandwell, West Midlands.
But after penning the invite on March 13 the youngster had begun to lose hope when a letter with the Royal seal arrived through his letterbox on May 3.
The response from Her Majesty wished him a happy birthday for June 25 – although it stated that she would not be able to attend his bash.
