Birmingham teenager admits terror offences

On Thursday 11th March, a 15-year-old Birmingham teenager has pleaded guilty to terrorism charges at a youth court.

The Bartley Green boy – who cannot be named due to his age – admitted the offences at Westminster Magistrates Court. The charges relate to three counts of possessing a document used to prepare or commit an act of terrorism between 5 May 2020 to 23 June 2020.

He was arrested at his home in June 2020.

The boy has been conditionally bailed from court and will next appear at Birmingham Youth Court on 21 May for pre-sentence reports.
