In 2014, Anni Dewani's husband, Shrien Dewani (34), was cleared of orchestrating arranging her murder while they were on their honeymoon.

Her family had requested for a full inquest to take place as it is claimed that they believed there were still many questions left unanswered. However, the senior coroner at North London coroner's court, Andrew Walker said, “I don't have sufficient cause to resume an inquest. The fact that there are differing accounts of how Mrs Dewani came by her death does not, in my view, mean that the matters have not already been sufficiently established in public.”
