Green tea is known for its different for its benefits and apparently, there's more! A chemical found in the tea appears to improve cognitive ability in people suffering from Down's Syndrome. A year-long clinical trial showed improved scores on memory and behaviour tests, with the positive impact staying six months after the trial concluded. Brain scans revealed that the compound, called epigallocatechin gallate changed the way neurons in the brain connect with one another. "This is the first time that a treatment has shown efficacy in the cognitive improvement of persons with this syndrome," said Mara Dierssen, senior author of the study.

While the results cannot be called a "cure", "It may be a tool to improve these individuals' quality of life," Mara said.
