Miracle On 70th Birthday

Thank God. I got all the help I needed at the right time with help of the NHS and my family, who insisted I went to the hospital; this saved my life. Today, I am fortunate enough to be one of the many faces of the NHS and the Stroke Awareness campaign (although my wife thinks the excitement for my birthday was the cause of the stroke!)

I remain eternally grateful for the speed and diligence of the medical staff at both Ealing as well as Charing Cross hospitals where I was diagnosed and treated promptly and expertly.

I had a miraculous recovery; we were given the opportunity to celebrate the “TIME“ God gave to us . We decided to meet and greet all our family and friends, both in the UK and abroad personally. We were able to travel and spend quality time with them at their homes in London, Leicester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Brighton, Dar-es-Salaam, Bombay, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Toronto, Texas, as well as Australia.

We were able to take a family trip to Bombay where my daughters also joined. I was given a surprise party, hosted by my dear friend NB Daruwala, for all our Bombay friends. Sadly we lost him soon after and we miss him a lot. I was also able to take a trip to Rhishikesh with my long standing friend SB Somani and enjoy the tranquility of the Ganges river and the daily aarti being performed with my wife and son.

I always wanted to write my love story: “An Affair to Remember“ and dedicate it for my wife. With the help and encouragement of my children, not only did I manage to print it, I learnt and became an active member of social media and have shared our story via Facebook.

I am thankful to all my friends and relatives who helped me to achieve this ambition. Aside from the inspiration of my family, Jyotsnaben Shah played a pivotal role in completing this book.

Next month we are celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary . All these wonderful milestones are possible because we are fortunate and blessed by Jethalal Kalyanj - Kaushalyaben & Juthalal  Dayashanker - Kamalaben as parents in our life.  We are thankful for our wonderful friends and family across the world. We have had a blessed life in our journey of 75 years from Korogwe and Congo, to London.
