Paris: Leaders of Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Paris during his visit to France on July 20. The Prime Minister received an update on the new Hindu temple that BAPS is building in Paris from volunteers of the organization. This includes a demonstration of a 3D model of the temple as well as intricate building blueprints and architectural drawings.

Modi learned how the temple, which is being constructed at the Esplanade des religions et des cultures – the multifaith and multicultural heartland of Paris – will become mainland Europe’s first traditional temple and will promote culture, integrity, and harmony.

Paris is home to some of the most famous structures and magnificent landmarks in the entire globe. With the advent of this BAPS Hindu Mandir, France is embracing India's architectural grandeur, which made Modi very happy. BAPS volunteers also explained to PM Modi how the Hindu temple complex will serve the needs of current and future generations, and that it will stand as a beacon of inspiration, service and harmony to people of all faiths and backgrounds within the Indo-France community.

The Prime Minister also met the temple’s project team and architects Arte Charpentier as well as Andrew Hobson (MD/Principal) and Nahla Jojo-Legrand (project director).

According to Hobson, this project will improve ties between French and Indian citizens, making it the most significant and essential cultural centre ever undertaken in France. Furthermore, Nahla Jojo-Legrand emphasised how fortunate and honored everyone is to work on this renowned project and be a part of its history.

Deep Patel, project coordinator for the temple’s construction, added, “We were honoured to meet Prime Minister Modi and discuss the BAPS temple in Paris. The Prime Minster was pleased to learn about this project, representing the blossoming friendship between France and India. BAPS thanks the leaders of both France and India for their continuing support and for bringing the vision of our spiritual leader His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj to fruition.”
