BoE likely to maintain current interest rates

Analysts predict the Bank of England will likely abstain from further interest rate increases during the upcoming meeting, marking the second consecutive pause following nearly two years of continual hikes.

The prevailing forecast anticipates the base rate to remain at 5.25%, even though there's some possibility of a rise in the eyes of the markets. An economist at ING noted the meeting's predictability. In September, four of the nine members of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) advocated for an increase to 5.5%.

Not much new data has surfaced since the last vote, which makes it improbable for those previously against raising rates to change their stances. ING expressed scepticism about a change in favour of further tightening, as just one committee member altering their position could sway the decision.
