Los Angeles: The most anticipated Convention and Trade Fair, AAHOACON23, was held in Los Angeles by the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), the largest hotel owners group in the world. The event was organised in a 90,000 square foot space for the first time in the 34 years of AAHOA's history, with 520+ exhibiting firms occupying a total of 890 booths. AAHOACON23 included world-class keynote speakers, 17 educational sessions, and four networking opportunities. The welcome reception was held at the historic LA Coliseum, home of the USC Trojans.
AAHOACON23 is the USA’s largest and exclusive event for hotel owners. The 2023 AAHOA Convention & Trade Show brings together the prominent in the industry for networking, education, and deal-making on the trade show floor. This was a biggest gathering of AAHOA members, who collectively own 60% of the hotels in the USA.
At the Trade Fair, AAHOA secured a record number of booth sales. AAHOA's previous largest event in 2019 marked the association's 30th anniversary that featured 77,500 square feet of display space.
Keynote Speakers
Swami Brahmaviharidas of BAPS delivered the keynote address at the general session. Attendees gathered at the North Plaza near the street corners of LA. Live for unforgettable hours of talented street performers like General Zooz, unique food trucks, and iconic elements drawn from the city's most well-known neighbourhoods.
“I always look forward to the industry’s Super Bowl event, and this year, as I conclude my term as AAHOA Chairman, I’m proud of the work our association has done to prepare for the event and connect even more vendors directly with decision-makers,” said AAHOA Chairman Nishant (Neal) Patel. He added, “AAHOA members spend billions of dollars each year with suppliers, and AAHOA plays an important role in connecting hoteliers directly with those who can help them run a better, more profitable, and more efficient business – AAHOACON is where deals are made.”
“Our team has been working around the clock to ensure AAHOACON23 is one of our most successful conventions to date, and I applaud the entire AAHOA team for helping our organization reach this historical milestone,” said AAHOA President & CEO Laura Lee Blake.
“This is an exciting time for AAHOA, as its annual flagship event, AAHOACON, has historically been the most highly anticipated “Super Bowl” event of the industry – an event created exclusively for hotel owners, with thousands of attendees, world-class entertainment, and hundreds of vendors ready to make deals with hoteliers,” said AAHOA’s next Chairman Bharat Patel.
AAHOA and ABPL
For a very long period, ABPL and AAHOA have been associated. CB Patel, the chairman and editor-in-chief of Asian Voice (formerly known as New Life) in 1996, was connected with the AAHOA and gave ample publicity. CB was asked to be the keynote speaker at conventions held in Atlanta and San Jose in 1997 and 1998, respectively. After that, CB extended invitations to the AAHOA delegation to our offices at Karma Yoga House, London and various events at the British Parliament
