According to Iraqi Airways, they deny responsibility for the bear's escape and state that the plane's crew collaborated with United Arab Emirates authorities. These specialists sedated the bear and successfully removed it from the aircraft. A video has gone viral on social media featuring the plane's captain apologising to the passengers for the departure delay caused by the bear's escape in the cargo hold. Iraqi Airways asserts that the bear's transportation adhered to regulations set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and followed legal procedures and standards. The airline states that the bear was intended to be transported from Baghdad to Dubai.
