Millions of people will see the amounts they receive in Government benefits and pensions change from April 2023. An across-the-board rise of 10.1 per cent is being put into place on most forms of state support, in line with the rate of inflation when the decision was taken.
The new amounts will be in place from April 2023 to April 2024. The financial year starts on April 6 and the increases traditionally come in from the following Monday, which this year is April 10. Claimants should see the higher amounts in the first payment that arrives after that date.
All are weekly rates unless otherwise stated. Some benefits are paid by the Department for Work and Pensions and others by HMRC. A full list of amounts has been published.
