There is something to cheer up for Greene King as the brewer and pub operator had a record sale over the festive period. The company, which runs the UK's biggest pub chain, is certainly in good spirits as its shares rose 4 per cent recently following news that sales at the group grew 67% in the first three quarters of its financial year, including its Spirit outlets.
Greene King Chief Executive Rooney Anand was quoted in Financial Times as saying: “We have managed the (Spirit) integration faster than expected, but have been able to do it without throwing either team off, so we are very pleased overall.”
