The journalist who moved to the US after finding fame with his TV interviews with Diana, Princess of Wales and the late Michael Jackson is set to return to Britain. Martin Bashir, the BBC has announced is set to become the organisation’s new religious affairs correspondent. Rumoured to earn around £60,000, he will replace Caroline Wyatt, who is suffering from multiple sclerosis.
