-Deputy Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg said his party would employ the “reason centre ground” during the campaign.

- UKIP leader, Nigel Farage disclosed UKIP's five fundamental election pledges.

- The Welsh Labour and the Welsh Conservatives launched their campaigns.

- The Green Party of England and Wales stated that the party could be in an imperative position if there is a hung parliament. However, The Green Party of Scotland launched its manifesto, including a pledge of a £10 minimum wage. 

- Chancellor, George Osborne said details of the Conservatives' outlined £12 billion welfare cuts would unfold in a spending review after the election.
