Many have criticised the Queen for disregarding the welfare of her staff by dismissing long-serving staff from their post. Some of the staff have young families.

Queen Elizabeth II has sacked at least four proficient staff, as well as a staff member who was said to have served at Buckingham Palace for 30 years.

A spokesperson from the Buckingham Palace has stated, “As a public institution, scrutinised by parliament, the royal household constantly reviews staffing to ensure that it is run in the most effective and efficient way possible.”

It is said that the redundancies of the staff members are part of cost-cutting which is in progression at the palace. This also includes stopping the overtime of the Buckingham Palace porters.
