A schoolgirl was a victim of an Asian abuse gang and was used for sex by 60 men, after she was approached by a middle-aged father in a Woolworths store when she was just 12, in 2006.
The schoolgirl and her friend were allegedly abused by 11 men from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. They were groomed and made to believe that these men were their boyfriends and whatever they were being subjected to was normal.
The men have been accused of “horrific sexual assault on a massive scale”. They are to stand trial and between them, they oppose 49 charges, including conspiring to facilitate child prostitution, rape and drugging one of the girls in have sex with her.
Oliver Saxby QC, told the jurors at the old Bailey Court that the girls came from broken homes. They wanted to feel grown up and one of the girls said that these men made her life “a bit more exciting.” The men bought the girls alcohol, gifts and drugs in order to win their trust, before sharing the girls around the group. Saxby also told the court that the girls were often subjected to rape by three or four men.
Saxby stated, “This case concerns child sexual exploitation on a massive scale. It features two young girls who were employed and sexually abused from the age of 12 or 13. Both girls were from unstable backgrounds, making perfect targets. Their lives were 'off the rails'. They were looking for excitement, for attention. For somewhere to hang out, away from school and home. They were wanting to feel grown up. And looked after. And they were easy prey for a group of men wanting casual sexual gratification that was easy, regular and readily available.”
It was further revealed in court that after the schoolgirl met father-of-two, Vikram Singh (45) while shopping with a friend at Woolworths in Aylesbury, she was passed between 60 men for sex.
Vikram Singh had groomed the school girl as well as got involved with her sexually. He also gave hr telephone numbers of other men who would then have sex with her.
The victim was between 12 and 14 when the abuse took place. Her alleged distress became apparent after she had given birth to her two children.
The prosecutor read out the schoolgirl's statement to the police in court. “You get passed round. It wasn't particularly me looking for them. It was them looking for me. It's just that they pass your number around. Or you're with one of them and they invited three or four of their friends round and then you have to sleep with them.
'Because you're in their place and they're making your life a bit more exciting, so you do what they want. I just knew Asian men wanted to sleep with me.”
The second girl, who is now 21 years of age stated in her statement, “I was very vulnerable. I was easily led. I was out seeing men, getting drunk, running away, getting arrested. I wanted attention and I was looking in the wrong place.”
Names of the 11 men charged are as follows: Vikram Singh, Harmohan Nangpal, Sajad Ali, Asif Hussain (33), Arshad Jani (33), Mohammed Imran (38), Akbari Khan (36), Taimoor Khan (29), Jerome Joe (35), Sohail Qamar (41) and Faisal Iqbal (32).
