There are many fake travel websites that have been scamming British holidaymakers- these scams have cost them at least £2.2 million last year.

These websites advertise hotels that do not exist, plane tickets never arrive and the website itself resemble real travel websites, yet are fake.

A family who travelled to Cornwall for a break costing them £1,500. They found that the website they had booked through had been hacked.

The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) have warned travellers who are booking their summer holidays to be on the lookout for fraudsters looking to take advantage of naïve travellers. ABTA and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau have recorded over 1,500 fraudulent holiday booking cases in the past 12 months.
