In August 2013, 8 year old Ayesha Ali was found dead with 50 injuries by the mother, Polly Chowdhury (35) and her vicious lover, Kiki Muddar (43).
It was revealed in court about how Muddar had created fake identities on Facebook and had sent text messages to lure Chowdhury. Muddar turned Chowdhury against Ayesha as she saw her as a threat. Two fake identities created by Muddar were Jimmy, Chowdhury's cyber boyfriend and Skyman, a Muslim Spirit guide.
Further revelations in court were of how Muddar had inundated Chowdhury with more than 40,000 texts, calling Ayesha a witch and having bad blood. One such message stated: “You have no right to ever love or like your evil daughter.”
On 29th August 2013, Muddar had informed the police that Ayesha had died and Chowdhury tried to commit suicide. When the paramedics arrived, Ayesha was found dead, wearing only a pair of pink pants.
Ayesha has endured a lot of physical, psychological and emotional abuse for months up to her death. However, Chowdhury and Muddar denied murder, manslaughter and causing the death of Ayesha between 1st March to 29th August 2013.
On 6th March 2015, Polly Chowdhury and Kiki Muddar were convicted of manslaughter. Chowdhury was sentenced to 13 years in jail as Muddar received 18 as Judge Christopher Moss QC confirmed that she was majorly responsible for the death of Ayesha, also describing Muddar as a “manipulative, wicked woman”. Additionally, there were clear evidence that Muddar had caused the fatal head injuries of Ayesha.
Judge Moss also commemorated Afsar Ali, Ayesha's father for being courageous in court for having to learn about the horrific details of the death of his daughter be revealed in court.
