The London Muslim Community Forum has appealed to all mosques in the Capital to invite their local communities to join them for Friday prayer during a London Jumma Peace Day. The London Muslim Community Forum has organised the peace day to demonstrate a united front against the killing of civilians.
Saleha Jaffer, co-chair of the London Muslim Communities Forum, said, "The killing of innocent civilians is barbaric and we call on mosques and Islamic venues to take the opportunity on Friday to send a clear message to all our communities, Muslim and non-Muslim, that these actions are not in the name of our great religion of Islam and we stand united in prayer for peace and harmony." Dr Mohammed Fahim, of South Woodford Mosque, in East London, is also supporting the London Jumma Peace Day. He said, “There are no sensible people supporting Islamic State (IS).” Commander Mak Chishty, the co-chairman of the London Muslim Community Forum and the head of community engagement for the Metropolitan Police called on all Muslims and non-Muslims to condemn such acts and stand united in peace and prayer.
According to recent reports, even Al-Qaeda has appealed to ISIS to release the British Hostage Alan Henning but their motives are unknown. According to a terrorist idelogy expert, Dr. Afzal Ashraf, “ISIS's strategy is incomprehensible. It is absurd and Al-Qaeda realises such behaviour will turn potential recruits away.”
David Haines, a British aid-worker who was kidnapped by the ISIS last year while delivering aid in Syria was beheaded brutally by the ISIS fighters, following the beheadings of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff. Following the video that was released by the terrorist group, the act was condemned by David Cameron as 'pure evil'. The militants have named their next plausible victim, Alan Henning. Henning, a 47-year-old taxi driver and a British aid worker, is touted to be the next victim of a brutal beheading. The family of David Haines are reported to be helping Henning's family to deal with the ordeal.
