Sumit Agarwal, Managing Partner of DNS Associates

Sumit, a winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the year Award (2012) organised by the Indo British Business Forum at the House of Commons by Cabinet Minister Eric Pickles, has recently developed one of the most exciting new accounting software packages for the industry, NOMISMA, which he is working hard to promote to UK Businesses.
In his leisure time, Sumit enjoys listening to music, watching movies, playing with his son and reading tax journals (... it cannot be better). Sumit is happily married with one child.

1) What is your current position?
I am the Managing Partner of DNS Accountants, Managing Director of DNS Consultancy Ltd, Managing Director of Nomisma Solution Ltd, Managing Director of DNS Accountants Franchise Ltd.
2) What are your proudest achievements?
Winning Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Sep 2012 at House of Commons organised by the Indo British Business Forum, and Winning the Best Online Accounting Firm Award in 2013 at The British Accountancy Awards 2013.
3) What inspires you?
Making life easy for my clients
 
4) What has been the biggest obstacle in your career?
Compliance and Regulations
 
5) Who has been the biggest influence on your career to date?
My family and especially my father who motivates me to keep working without worrying too much about the end results/ achievements from one side while I am a follower  of “The World’s #1 Small Business Guru” Michael E Gerber, a true legend of entrepreneurship.
 
6) What is the best aspect about your current role?
Variety, learning new things all the time, new challenges, ability to lead and implement decisions is quite satisfying.
No two days is alike, so when you are driving to office you are not sure what’s going to come today.
 
7) And the worst?
Uncertainty, challenges for which little information is available, making a decision when you are not sure. Getting work out of team
 
8) What are your long term goals?
Create the coolest accounting software. It’s a dream project as I am very passionate about integrated working and all in one solution on Cloud which offers from the stage of Lead management, CRM, Document management to Accounts and bookkeeping and hope to complete fully by the end of December 2015. Of course I  want to have lot more kids and great family life with my children and wife.
 
9) If you were Prime Minister, what one aspect would you change?
Bring down taxes and cut red tape. Stop Blaming people who generate wealth and pay taxes.
 
10) If you were marooned on a desert island, which historical figure would you like to spend your time with and why?
I would love to spend time with Krishna to learn more about Bhagvad Gita and life. Jesus would be good choice as well as love what he preaches.
