Yoga celebrations at Consulate General of India

On June 18th, 2016, Consulate General of India, Birmingham organized the second International Day of Yoga celebration in collaboration with Indian communities and yoga learning institutions. The event took place at the Centre for Oneness, Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Wednesbury, Birmingham.

Representatives from renowned organizations such as Patanjali Yogpeeth, Sant Nirankari Mission, Isha Foundation, The Art of Living, Brahma Kumaris, Hindu Initiative for Global Harmony, Hindu Swayam Sevak Sangha (UK), Manavata, Purna Vidya, Viswa Hindu Parishad, and Sandwell City Council actively participated in the celebration.

The event was graced by Baroness Sandeep Verma, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development, UK, who attended as the Chief Guest. The gathering attracted approximately 200 individuals from across the Midlands region, including the Deputy Mayor of Sandwell City Council, Councillor Susan Downing, as well as representatives from Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Rugby, Coventry, and other areas. 

The attendees comprised yoga experts, gurus, students, teachers, medical professionals, and leaders from various communities.
