An 87-year-old woman, who was stuck in her bath for four days, was rescued after a waitress noticed that the elderly woman had not come in for her usual cup of tea and slice of café.
Doreen Mann from Southendon-Sea, Essex, was literally in hot water, as she got stuck in her bathtub. She kept herself warm by topping it up with hot water.
Fortunately, 39-year-old Sonia Congrave became concerned when her loyal customer Mann failed to arrive as usual at Tomassi’s cafe for a couple of days.
She called the police who helped Mann out of the tub last week.
Mann described Congrave as an “angel”.
Congrave has bought Mann a mobile telephone for emergencies.
