One of Britain's leading motivational speakers, Paresh Rughani, has been honoured by the Government of India for his 'positive contribution to diverse communities through his work globally'. Mr Rughani (pictured, centre) received the Hind Ratan "Jewel of India" Award, one of the highest Indian diasporic awards bestowed upon non-resident Indians, or NRIs, by the NRI Welfare Society of India. The awards are part of the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations and take place in New Delhi. Mr Rughani, formerly of Leicester, and an ardent devotee of the Shri Swaminarayan Sanstha, or BAPS, is son of Mansukhlalbhai and Manjulaben Rughani, originally of Mwanza, Tanzania.
