Here's some news for rice eaters. The humble rice may not be as good for your health as you may think it to be.

According to a recent study done by the Queens University Belfast in England, the chemical from the industrial toxins and pesticides in the soil contaminate the rice that is endangering the health of millions of people.

Putting more water in the pan or even steeping it overnight is the best way to flush out traces of the poison arsenic, scientists found. Rice is causing what is known as Arsenic poisoning.

Chronic exposure to the toxin has been linked to a range of health problems, including developmental problems, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
