Sexual harassment of girls in schools is a widespread problem but compulsory sex education is not needed, the Government has said.

There is a “prevailing culture” in UK schools, which “seemingly condones sexual harassment as being ‘just banter’,” it has admitted in a response to a report on the issue.

The report highlights the “worrying trend” of young children who learn about sex and relationships from internet pornography.
