"Whispers of my Heart" written by Jayashree Shah is an inspiring and special poem book which invites you to shed tears of pain and joy but also to travel through nature, cosmos and along the way meet squirrels, rainbows and so on, with whispers and words. And finally, you meet your inner self.
This is her first, special-edition book dedicated to her late mother. The book is a testament to the power of words. These creative poems can be a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us about self discovery and the oneness of humanity.
Ten years ago, Jayashree Shah who is a retired NHS integrated medical GP discovered her love of poetry. She is a firm believer that everyone has creativity inside them, waiting to be unlocked with the keys of courage and joy. She spends her active retirement engaging in social activities, travel, fund-raising and immersing in nature. Presently, she resides in London after spending most of her time in Lancashire, Sweden and India. She lives with her husband Dr. Rajnikant Shah, a retired consultant anesthetist, two sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons.
Dr. Rajnikant Shah, Dr. Jayashree Shah and their friends established the UK-based non-profit organisation ‘Positive Sight’ in November 1997 to support various social activities in India aimed at recovering eyesight. It is affiliation with the Blind People's Association (BPA), an NGO based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat which works for the services of people with disabilities. Positive Sight raises funds through various innovative ways, such as hill climbing, trekking, sponsoring walks, raffles, auctions, charity events and through individual / corporate donations.
The book is planned to be e-launched during a zoom event on Women Empowerment and Achievements organised by Gujarat Samachar and Asian Voice on 27th May 2023. The proceeds from the book sales will be used to restore vision and conduct cataract operation for extremely poor people living in rural areas of India. For more details, check pg 7.
