Queen to attend Prince Philip memorial in ‘military-style’ operation

It is believed that Buckingham Palace is planning a ‘military-style’ operation to get the Queen to Prince Philip’s memorial service dodging paparazzi cameras. For the first time in ten years, the monarch dropped out of the Commonwealth Day service over concerns for her comfort and mobility issues. She has also been less visible over the past year, after spending three months resting on doctors orders and having recently recovered from a bout of Covid.

However, she is set on attending the church on March 29 for a thanksgiving service for her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last April aged 99. She will be flown by helicopter from Windsor to Buckingham palace before being driven a short distance to the Abbey, said palace sources.

One of the sources said, the Queen is avoiding appearing in public in a wheelchair as she fears it will replicate a ‘haunting’ photo of her sister Princess Margaret in the months before her death.
