Pugh pays price for passport pandemic

Paul Pugh, the former chief executive of Her Majesty's Passport Office, will lose his job after allowing an enormous backlog of applications to accumulate over the summer. Theresa May announced that she would take over HMPO to ensure a more efficient and high quality service to the public.
