The sale of the beleaguered Port Talbot steel plant has hit a roadblock after its Indian owner Tata Steel asked the potential bidders for more details on their plans.

According to a report in the Financial Times, the shortlist may not be finalised until the end of this week or later.

Port Talbot is Tata's biggest UK plant with about 4,000 workers, part of the 11,000 workforce at the wider Tata Steel UK operation.
