Dr Mona Amin, a board-certified paediatrician, and mother of a two-year-old son has asked parents not to pressurize themselves about parenting amid the pandemic. She added parents should not take the pressure of doing everything perfectly.

Dr Amin frequently shares parenting tips and information on social media by the username @PedsDocTalk.

Last week, she shared a post on her Instagram profile, highlighting the toll the pandemic has had on parents and urged her followers to loom after their own well being.

In the post, she has mentioned how parents have felt helpless and are in desperate need of a break. She also said that she is "more concerned about us than our kids".

“We have had to carry an enormous weight on our shoulders for two years. The lack of stable childcare help, the lack of in-person community, handling work-life balance, the constant mental gymnastics we have to do about risk reduction and the desire to keep our children and family healthy and safe, and the realisation that we can’t always rely on others to do their part to keep our community and children safe, she added.
