Noted Indian film actor’s book launched at The Bhavan London

The Indian diaspora turned out in significant numbers at The Bhavan, London on Sunday 8th May 2022 to witness the first look of the book ‘Friendship Unlimited’, a biography of Mr Ambareesh (29 May 1952 – 24 November 2018), a highly celebrated south Indian film star who was also Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Government of India. The event was graced by Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh, Member of Parliament, India and wife of the now-deceased actor, and Dr Mattur Nandakumara, Executive Director The Bhavan London.

Also present were noted south Indian actor and film producer Rockline Venkatesh, Mr Ganapati Bhat, Chairman of Kannadigaru UK, and Mr Kishan Shastri President, Kannada Society, Cambridge University.

A household name, Ambareesh acted in more than 200 movies including appearances in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil films.

Author of the biography Mr R. Manjunath Chavan has been in the Indian media for over three decades and has known the former actor and his family for several years.
