Brum teenager arrested in terror probe

The 18-year-old youth was detained at approximately 7am this morning by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit.

Unconfirmed reports said the operation was carried out in Hodge Hill.

The operation was pre-planned and intelligence led. There was no immediate threat to public safety.

The man was arrested at his home address on suspicion of preparing for terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
