It has emerged that ministers are considering plans to stop young Britons from claiming in-work benefits, as it would be illegal to solely restrict EU migrants.

The plans will have a rule intended to stop EU migrants from claiming benefits during their first four years in Britain. The rules will also stop 18-22-year-old Britons from claiming benefits, such as child benefit and tax credits.
