20 young people from all over the UK gathered at the Oxford University campus last weekend as part of Varchasva, the UK’s first national youth leadership programme for young British Hindus.

Organised by Yog Foundation, an award-winning charity based in South East London, in collaboration with the world renowned leadership training experts at Faith in Leadership, Varchasva fosters a holistic approach to leadership development, with an emphasis on leadership of the self.

Held over three residential modules, the programme encourages a new generation of faith leaders to recognise the best in themselves and in one another to inspire, empower and bring forth Dharma and values-led change. Through a programme of talks, workshops and reflective learning, the Young Hindu Leaders are learning to apply this to every aspect of their being, including education, career, socially and spiritually.

This is the third year of the programme. So far almost 60 young people have successfully completed it and are leading change in their communities through dharmic action.
Madhuja, a Young Hindu Leader who recently completed the programme said, “The programme showed us the potential we always had, the courage we always had, and has inspired us to do anything we want to achieve alongside our faith.”

The Young Hindu Leaders are also supporting Yog Foundation’s current capital campaign, The Lotus Project, to build a Cultural Centre and Mandir in Bromley. Find more on Yog Foundation at www.yog.foundation
