To mark 70 years of India and Pakistan's independence, Masterchef Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed will put her culinary expertise to test at one of London's most popular Indian restaurants. The 29 year old will collaborate with Indian-raised executive chef Sameer Taneja, at Convent Garden's Talli Joe to deliver a one-off feast of 10 dishes from across India and Pakistan.

The feast will include a venison version of chapli kebab, and a twist on Indian classic Butter Chicken. There will also be Indian-style lentil fritters and a sea bass curry from Pak. “Indiaand Pakistan share a deeply intimate food culture. This meal celebrates the culinary heritage which binds these nations together and celebrates all we have achieved in gastronomy as a collective region, irrespective of geographically defined borders,” Saliha said.

The meal will be made available over two sittings on September 17, and include two welcome drinks and the entire menu for £45.
