Lord Loomba CBE hosted a dinner at the House of Lords in honour of Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana. During the dinner, Hon’ble Chief Minister met a number of investors and dignitaries, including Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik, Deputy High Commissioner, Mr A S Rajan, Minister Co-ordination, Mr C B Patel, Mr Sarosh Zaiwalla, Mr Ravi Mehrotra CBE, Mr Vijay Goel, Mr Manish Tiwari, Mr Rajat Kapoor and many more.
It was an event to celebrate strategic ties with the State of Haryana, as 5 investors - GoodBox, Pontaq, Relmatech, Xelba and Zap Go, who were invited by Dr Mohan Kaul, President of Indian Professionals Forum (IPF), signed MoUs with the Haryana Government in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
Shri Manohar Lal Khattar mentioned that, “Haryana is open for business and is continuously improving on attracting companies to establish their foot print in the state. We have moved up the ranks in terms of ease of doing business from 17 to 6 across various states in India. It is in our interest to ensure that we support these businesses as we continue to demonstrate a growth that exceeds the national GDP”. Honourable Chief Minister also mentioned that he was extremely pleased about the MoUs being signed and has invited the British businesses on a delegation to Haryana to further crystallise the partnership.
Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik, Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that India is third largest investor in UK and Indian Companies are the largest employers. He also mentioned about the Indian High commission’s new initiative to assist UK companies to access opportunities and partners in India.
Dr. Mohan Kaul, President of Indian Professionals Forum (IPF) said that, “IPF is so pleased to have crystallised the plans for launching a £50M UK India Innovation Fund. The fund is set up by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs and venture capitalists with experience in cross border technology transfer, specifically in the UK India corridor. The execution of these MoUs with the state of Haryana is a key milestone to strengthen the opportunities in UK India corridor following the recent agreement between the two Prime Ministers”
