A court was told that Darren Osborne, 28, who drove a van into Muslim worshippers outside a mosque in Finsbury Park was brainwashed by online right-wing propaganda after becoming outraged by s TV drama about grooming gangs.

Osborne is accused of murdering Makram Ali and injuring several others in the attack in North London. It is alleged that he had become a “ticking time bomb” obsessed with Muslims after watching the BBC programme, Three Girls, which looked at the Rochdale grooming scandal.

It is said that Osborne had left a note in the rented van used in the attack on 19th June 2017, which complained about “feral Muslim men preying in parks, hunting for children”, as well as “inbred migrants”.

The court also heard how unemployed father-of-four, Osborne, from Pentwyn, was said to have become indoctrinated after watching videos online from far-right groups, such as Britain First and the English Defence League (EDL).

Osborne denies murder and attempted murder. The trial continues.
