On Wednesday 15th January, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has warned Uber users against the ride-hailing app after suffering "the scariest experience" in London. The actress has reported that her driver was apparently "unstable and was yelling and shouting" during enitre the journey. Tagging Uber in her tweet she wrote,

"I was shaking by the end of it. I tried complaining on your app, and just got multiple disconnected replies by bots. You guys need to update your system. The damage is done. There is nothing more you can do.

"The best and safest is just to use the local public transportation or cabs.”

Responding to the tweet an Uber spokeswoman in London said that the incident was "regrettable and concerning".

"What's been described has no place on the Uber app and we're reviewing the matter," she said.

Recently, Uber has faced considerable flak over its passenger safety record and the company even lost its license in London after Tfl authorities said it had failed to fix a litany of safety issues including at least 14,000 cases of drivers handing their permits to unlicensed friends or relatives. It continues to operate in the city pending an appeal.
