Satsang UK celebrates Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra's 128th birth anniversary

Satsang UK was in a festive mood on June 4, Saturday as it celebrated the 128th birth anniversary of 19th century philosopher, spiritual leader, and philanthropist Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra, in Reading. More than 150 people including devotees, marked their attendance from all over the UK, USA, Netherlands, and Norway.

The festivities began around 2 pm with devotional songs sung flawlessly by veteran singer Mrs Ratna Ghosh and her team. Satsang members Mr. Ram Kinkar Thakur, Mr. Nihar Mishra, Ms. Mery Diaz, Mr. Shibasis Satpaty, Mr. Prasna Ray, Mr. Rajanikanta Samantara, Mrs. (Dr.) Alka Thakur and Mr. Rajarshi Roy gave speeches on various aspects of Sree Sree Thakur and his philosophy. Prayers, meditation, bhajans and kirtans followed through the latter half of the day. Mr. Rob Wilson, MP and Minister for Civil Society, Govt. of UK who was present as the Chief Guest, launched the 1st edition of Satsang UK newsletter 'The Lore-Light'. In his address to the gathering, he congratulated the Satsang community on the occasion. The event was covered live by Dil Se radio presenters Ravi Sharma and Kajal.

The marking concluded with the distribution of prasad and a community dinner. A person also took initiation (diksha) with Sree Sree Thakur's holy mantra.

Satsang UK organises monthly prayer meetings and scientific meditation practices at Reading on 1st Saturday and at Ilford on 3rd Saturday of each month and is currently engaged in a project to build a Satsang Centre in London. There are presently over 80 million followers from all religions including Hindus, Muslims and Christians, from across the globe.
