Sardar Patel Nirvana Day marks the legacy of Sardar

64th Nirvana Day of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was organised by Sardar Patel Memorial Society (SPMS) UK at Kadawa Patidar Centre, Harrow on Sunday 14th December 2014 to pay tribute and celebrate the legacy of the Iron Man of India.

The event was well supported by well wishers and sponsors of SPMS UK and attended from representatives of the community & dignitaries including Lord Loomba, Virendra Sharma MP, Onkar Sahota MP, Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Ajay Maru, Mayor of Brent, Cllr Kana, CB Patel, Mitesh Patel, C J Rabheru, Hardyal Luther and members from overseas BJP UK.

It started with the lighting of Deepak & garlanding the bust of Sardar with prayers and devotional songs with floral tributes to celebrate the life of Sardar with opening Speech by the Convenor/Vice Chairman of SPMS UK - Mr Mahendrasinh Jadeja.

Chief Guest Shri Parshottam Rupala - Vice President of BJP ruling party was given a standing ovation for his tribute to Late Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel fondly known as 'Sardar Patel"

Sardar was one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India and played a leading role in the struggle for independence and guided its integration into a united independent nation.

Other speakers included Mr P G Patel, CB Patel and Jay Patel with lovely entertainment by Amit Kansara and his group.

SPMS UK observes ' Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' the Birth Anniversary of Sardar on 31St October every year. "Run for Unity" has been pledged to mark India's first Home Minister - Sardar Patel.
