Rishi Sunak, the son-in-law of Infosys’ Narayan Murthy, has now been appointed as Chancellor of the Exchequer following Sajid Javid’s resignation. The appointment of Sunak, currently the Treasury chief secretary, was confirmed by Downing Street in a tweet.

He even stood in for Johnson in some televised debates during last year’s election campaign.
