A council report has revealed that Hoi Kee Chinese Restaurant in Pinner, west London was invested with rats and had food which was eight years out of date and contaminated with rat droppings.

The restaurant was temporarily shut down after an inspection by Harrow Council officials.

It is also said that TSK Cash and Carry was shut down prior to the restaurant after inspectors found that the food had been shredded by rats.

Both of the owners of the businesses were called before magistrates and were made to pay over £2,300 between them. They were also told to clean up their acts or they could face permanent closure.

Both businesses have been reopened.
