Oxford Street incident not terror related

Black Friday certainly created havoc for one and all at Oxford Streets as terrified shoppers fled after armed police cleared the streets, due to potential terror attacks, which were later ruled out as they found no evidence.

On 24th November, the Metropolitan Police received many calls of alleged gun shots being heard at Oxford Circus Station, however, there has been no evidence that any weapons were fired. In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said, "Officers working with colleagues from British Transport Police carried out an urgent search of the area. No causalities, evidence of any shots fired or any suspects were located by police."

16 people were injured when trying to escape during the chaotic stampede at the station.

The police are in search of two men after an altercation “erupted” at the station.
