Professor Dr. Geeta Nargund, global pioneer in Natural/Mild IVF and active campaigner for female fertility rights, has been selected to attend the special 60th anniversary Women of the Year Lunch on the 19th October.

Women of the Year has recognised, celebrated and inspired women of all backgrounds since 1955 and continues to shine a light on extraordinary women who have made exceptional contributions to society.

Professor Nargund is attending in celebration of her ground-breaking work to advance the development of safer methods of IVF, and her tireless campaign to increase accessibility to fertility treatments and improve overall fertility education throughout the UK. The recognition follows a clutch of national awards, including the prestigious RBS Chairman’s award at the Asian Woman of Achievement in 2014 and Red Magazine’s Woman of the year Award for Charity & Community work in 2013.

As Medical Director of Create Fertility IVF clinics, first established in Wimbledon over a decade ago, and Senior Consultant at St. George’s hospital, Geeta is proud to serve local communities. Create Fertility, Wimbledon is a local provider for IVF for both NHS and private patients. She also runs two national Women’s Health charities Create Health Foundation and ISMAAR from her Wimbledon address.

Commenting on her recognition, Professor Dr Geeta Nargund said:“I am honoured to have been invited to join such an outstanding group of women. As we work to improve the experience of those undergoing IVF treatment, it is vital to recognise both the many advances which have been made but also the changes we still need to see. It is my hope that this recognition will help me in my quest to change women’s lives, and offer safer, affordable and more accessible fertility treatments to all women, no matter what their situation.”

This year’s event will take place on Monday 19 October 2015 at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel.

Exceptional women will receive special awards at the Lunch for being an inspiration to others, demonstrated by their courage, selflessness and dedication. These special Women of the Year awards are sponsored by Barclays, DFS, Good Housekeeping, ITV’s Lorraine and Prudential and will be announced on Monday 19 October 2015.
