Tributes have been paid to a respected Sikh community leader and volunteer who dedicated his life to the people of Leicester and has died at the age of 84.
Sewa Singh Paldi’s passing is being mourned as “a great loss for the Sikh Community of Leicester and the city as a whole.”
A former president of two of the largest Sikh temples in the city, he died in Leicester Royal Infirmary leaving behind his wife, Daljit Kaur, their four children and seven grandchildren.
Parminder Thandi, 26, said she “couldn’t be prouder” of her grandfather. He was a prominent prominent Sikh leader within Leicester and well known throughout the whole community through his involvement in multi-faith groups.
